About the role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to join our exceptional team. This full-time, long-term role is perfect for someone passionate about making a significant impact on students’ lives, particularly those who require additional support in managing their social and emotional well-being.

Application Requirements:

• Proven experience working with children, particularly those with SEMH needs. Experience in a similar role within a school setting is highly desirable.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

• Understanding of SEMH needs and effective strategies for supporting students with these challenges.

• Relevant qualifications or certifications in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or related fields are beneficial but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide targeted support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to manage their emotions, build resilience, and develop coping strategies.

• Work closely with class teachers to deliver tailored interventions and strategies designed to meet each child’s unique needs.

• Keep detailed records of students’ progress and behaviors, working collaboratively with teachers and parents to implement and adjust support plans as needed.

• Utilise a range of resources and tools to enhance learning and emotional development, ensuring that students have access to the best possible support.
