About the role:
We are looking for a passionate and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) with a specialisation in Autism Spectrum Disorder to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will work closely with students, helping to create individualised learning experiences tailored to their specific needs. Your presence will be instrumental in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment that enables our students to engage with the curriculum and develop essential life skills. As an SEN-TA, you will support students in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, ensuring they receive the necessary assistance to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to implement personalised learning strategies and interventions that promote growth and development.
Application Requirements:
• Relevant experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder or other special educational needs.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
• A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting diverse learners.
• A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Qualifications in Special Educational Needs, Teaching Assistance, or a related field are preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ensuring they can engage fully in classroom activities.
• Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs.
• Support students in developing social skills and fostering positive relationships with peers and adults.
• Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
• Collaborate with teachers and specialists to monitor student progress and adapt strategies as necessary.
