We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Utilities Coordinator within the Utilities Construction for Major Structures.
To provide expert knowledge, management, guidance and implementation of safe systems of work for the avoidance of underground services and management of knowledge transfer for new and located services.
Profile:
Reviews Method Statements and Risk Assessments and makes suggestions for improvements as appropriate
Develop relationships with external stakeholders and engage with Knowledge Sharing and new innovations within the utility industry.
Able to understand the process of using information from design drawings to mark out items in the field.
Experience of management of utilities in a similar role
NRSWA Supervisor accredited
Competent understanding of the principles of Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and able to manage the maintaining and updating of the Permit to Dig Service drawings in a timely manner

About Balfour Beatty VINCI
Balfour Beatty VINCI is a long-established joint venture between two powerhouses for the delivery of critical infrastructure across rail, transport and other iconic projects in the UK and beyond. We started working together over 30 years ago to deliver the Channel Tunnel, as members of the TransManche Link consortium. In the Midlands, it is Balfour Beatty VINCI’s role to design and build the route, ready for tracks and signalling to be installed. Balfour Beatty Vinci has an exciting opportunity for an Utilities Coordinator to join our team based in Coleshill, Coventry
What you’ll be doing
As an Utilities Coordinator you’ll be working alongside our Utilities team helping to deliver the biggest civils infrastructure project in the UK.
Some of the duties you will have include:
Ensure that the BBV Avoidance of Underground & Overhead Services procedure is followed across site. 
Collaborate in ensuring that measures included in the HS2’s documents “Requirements for Working around Major Utilities”, “Achieving Best Practice in Service Avoidance” & HSG47 are followed across site. 
Ensure GS6s and Exclusion zones are implemented and maintained. 
Carry out regular on site utilities safety inspections, implement recommended courses of action as identified and support any incident investigations.  Coordinate & collaborate with the Utilities Protection Manager and remaining Utilities Protection Team in ensuring that all protection measures are adhere to, there is a good understanding of those across all internal stakeholders, including AoD process and plant protection, and any new or changed policies are implemented. 
Coordinate all aspects of any site investigation required for Utilities designs & delivery including trial holes and ensure necessary resources (plant, labour & materials) are available and secured. 
As necessary undertake the role of Responsible Person within the BBV Avoidance of Underground & Overhead Services. 
Coordinate & collaborate with the Utilities Protection Manager and remaining Utilities Protection Team in the operation and compliance of the BBV Permit to Dig System.The ideal candidate for the role would have the below:
SMSTS/SSSTS 
NRSWA Supervisor 
Relevant CSCS and EUSR Cards 
Basic Computer competence (E-mail, MS word, excel & intranet) 
Understanding of Engineering principles 
