The Role

The role of the VP, Global Relationship Manager is to collaborate with Fidelity International Limited ("FIL") Sr. Management and their Sales & Relationship Management staff on Business Development for the FMR product line. Part of the role will also be providing Relationship Management for the active book of client accounts. This will include some complex international institutional clients and account structures. The key focus will be on building relationships with our FIL partners, educating them on FMR's products and solutions in order to drive new sales.

Duties:

Business Development (60%)
  • Create and maintain relationships with Sr. Management and the Sales & Relationship staff in the UK & European markets
  • Focus on efforts to promote the focused set of products across the Wholesale & Institutional markets
  • Maintain good client relations on the active book of accounts in the UK and Europe (initially).
  • Create a better engagement model for the product teams and the asset allocation research teams to engage more for cross product creation collaboration
  • Proactively enhance client relationships by anticipating client needs and developing solutions for client related needs and challenges.
  • Ownership of driving opportunities to a win. Such as on and off-site finals and due diligence meetings.
  • Strategizing on the best structural solutions for new accounts. (Separate accounts, UCIT, SICAV, OEIC, PPIT's...others)

Relationship Management (20%)
  • Attain a high level of client satisfaction by ensuring all client requests are completed beyond client expectations. High focus on complex and non-routine issues.
  • Work collaboratively with Fidelity International Limited ("FIL") and their Sales and Relationship Managers on client and relationships. Focusing heavily on client retention and business at risk strategies. Focus on client profitability through service strategy efficiencies. Assist in cross-selling opportunities.
  • Manage and facilitate regular and/or ad hoc investment reviews with the client and their dedicated portfolio management teams.

Sales Promotion and Business at Risk (10%)
  • Help with screening of RFP's and new opportunities with our FIL distribution partners.
  • Manage and understand each client's investment needs and investment strategies and ensure the full FIAM relationship options are promoted.
  • Manage client risks and maintain all client relationship management systems to ensure the full client details are up to date and within senior management review materials. Provide senior management briefs as necessary.

Key Business Partner Engagement (5%)
  • Work collaboratively with key internal business partners (Treasurer's Office, Finance, etc.) to strengthen communication and engagement in order to streamline ongoing support and issue resolution.

Leadership (5%)
  • Mentor and train FIL employees
  • Lead by example demonstrating a high degree of conviction and dedication to our clients.
  • Serve as a proxy for the VP, Channel Management in appropriate situations

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree Required, MBA and/or CFA desired
  • 10 Years of related experience
  • Excellent Client Relationship Management skills (written and oral communications)
  • Strong working knowledge of International clients and other regulatory rules within the investment management industry
  • Expert in Institutional investment management processes
  • Exercises standard of care and good Fiduciary judgment
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiating and influencing skill, with a proven ability to engage senior management
  • Results oriented and ability to work independently
  • Solid leadership and project management skills
  • Usual working conditions with flexibility in working early AM & late PM hours.

The Team

This role will report into the SVP, Global Channel Manager who is based in the US. The VP, Global Relationship Manager's day to day decision making will have a profound effect on client relationships and the relationship with our international distribution partner (FIL). In addition, financial and reputational risks are imbedded daily in the role. Against this backdrop, the RM will need to work independently to identify and resolve all client issues as they arise. Sound decision making skills also allow the AE to seek advice when needed and escalate items as circumstances dictate. Frequent Senior Management escalation is required for approvals. This requires solid knowledge of all aspects of the investment management business, with good presentational skills.
