Hays are partnering with a public sector organisation to recruit a temporary Administrative Assistant based in Carrickfergus. The candidate will be responsible for providing efficient and effective administrative and financial support to the Waste Service within the depot.
Your new role
- Maintain accurate records and filing systems.
- Handle correspondence and communications for the Waste Management Team.
- Manage performance data for audits and contracts.
- Coordinate and collate waste and recycling statistics.
- Conduct research and data gathering.
- Archive data per data protection procedures.
- Assist in marketing and promoting Waste Management Services.
- Act as a point of contact for general enquiries.
- Handle customer enquiries referred by the Customer Service Team.
- Monitor trade waste schedules and provide service updates.
- Arrange meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes.
- Ensure prompt invoice preparation and payment.
- Assist with ordering and stock control of waste management items.
- Comply with Council policies, including health and safety.
- Participate in business and service plan formulation and evaluation.
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs to include English language and Maths or equivalent
AND
- Minimum of two years' administrative experience in a busy office environment, to include
- Working knowledge of a wide range of administrative activities within a customer-focused environment
- Experience of processing orders and invoices
- IT literacy and confident use of databases, e-mail and Microsoft packages
AND
- Qualification that demonstrates competency in working with office technology, i.e. Word Processing or Typewriting
