Ships Agent

Pentagon Freight Services are looking for an experienced Ships Agent to coordinate our day to day operations in our Newcastle area.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Owners and Charterers agency before, during and after vessel port calls, in particular working with tankers, offshore support vessels and dry bulk cargo
  • Completing documentation on arrival with Captain/Senior Crew inward/outward clearance, CERS3, Statement of Facts, Notice of Readiness, Bill of Lading
  • Liaising with harbour office, berth operators, customs, immigration etc
  • Coordination of vessel de/mobilisation services including procurement/arrangement of plant hire, welfare facilities, mobile cranes, surveys, transport, storage, ships stores and spare parts
  • Crew change arrangements including transport, accommodation and immigration documentations
  • Coordinate with CTVs/workboats for offshore transfer of personnel and stores
  • Liaise with internal departments providing customs clearance, transport, forwarding and warehousing
  • Create and submit estimated proforma disbursement accounts
  • Acting as the face of the company when boarding vessels
  • Previous experience as ships agent/shipping industry
  • Ability to work out of normal office hours and board vessels when required
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Good IT skills
  • Clean driving license
  • Good team player
  • Previous offshore experience would be desirable
