An opportunity has arisen for a housing officer to join our Bethany Homes team on a part-time basis. The HousingOfficer will ensure the efficient outworking of tenancy management functions across Bethany properties acrossEdinburgh, including letting, inspecting and management of properties, whilst helping to meet occupancy targets,working closely with the tenants to provide the highest level of care, to deal with the day to day issues ofhousing and property management, including supporting the tenants with rent and maintenance issues, therebymaximising rental income and providing administration support as required.

As part of the wider Bethany Homes Team, you will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and have theability to work on your own whilst prioritising your workload; you will have experience and knowledge of theservice user group and their surrounding issues relating to homelessness, as well as, having housing/lettingmanagement experience. Competence in the use of Microsoft office tools is essential.

Bethany House is a resettlement accommodation unit which supports men and women who are homeless.

We are looking for an individual who both has a passion for cooking and a passion for serving vulnerable groups ofpeople. This post holder will work in the kitchen 3 days per week and cook dinner for 28 residents of BethanyHouse. They will also work as a team to gather menu ideas and work around specific dietary requirements. Theywill also work with others in the team to monitor the food supplies and order food when needed.

Each year, Bethany Christian Trust helps over 7,000 people throughout Scotland avoid or move out of homelessness. Weachieve this by providing emergency and supported accommodation and services that help people build resilienceto the challenges that often lead to homelessness.

To help carry out this work, our Fundraising Team raises significant income while stewarding new and existingsupporters. As an experienced, proactive, and creative events fundraiser, you will assist your Team Lead in coordinating aprogramme of national events that align with the strategic aims of raising funds, building brand awareness, andincreasing fundraising capacity through ambassadors and participants.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and will support other areas of fundraising, including churches andcommunity fundraising, corporates, individual giving, and marketing. Living our values, you will work withcolleagues across the charity to encourage event participation so that, together, we can help end homelessnessin Scotland one person at a time.

The disability advice and information serviceprovides support to disabled people across Edinburgh and the Lothians on a range of subjects including welfarebenefits, income maximisation, accessibility, housing, and a range of other topics of interest to disabledpeople.

You should enjoy working as part of a small team and have excellent communication skills in order to help our serviceusers. Support includes one-to-one case-work and group-work/workshop delivery.

You should have previous experience of working within a similar environment and be a quick learner.

After initial training in the office environment, this post will be a mix of working from home and our offices inEdinburgh. The post also includes an element of outreach work across the Lothians, in community settings andhome-visits to service users.
