About the Role
The City of Edinburgh Council's Homelessness Prevention and Housing Options Team (HP&HOT) is seeking a skilled Housing Officer to join our team. As a Housing Officer, you will play a critical role in providing tailored housing options advice, information, and support referrals to prevent homelessness or enable assessed homeless people to access suitable housing.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide housing options advice and support to individuals and families at risk of homelessness
- Work with statutory services and partner organizations to make key decisions about customers' entitlement to services
- Participate in a rota and cover basis while working as part of an Emergency Duty and New Appointment team in localities
- Display resilience and ability to take ownership and responsibility of tasks in a challenging frontline service
Requirements
- Proven track record of working in a challenging frontline service
- Ability to work in a pressurized environment and adapt to changing circumstances
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners
