We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Service Managers to join our Assessment and Intervention Team in Children's Care & Support.

In Barking and Dagenham, we recognise the importance of providing support to our community in dealing with issues such as neglect and domestic abuse.

We also recognise that the risk of exploitation poses a serious threat to our most vulnerable children and young people.

As an assessment Service Manager your role will be central to providing exceptional and creative leadership for 3 assessment teams and making a positive difference to children, young people and their families in our community.

You will be required to plan, organise and manage your teams, providing effective operational management and support, as required, delegating this to your Team Managers, where required.

You will support your Head of Service to deliver on portfolio commitments. In addition to this, you will oversee all recruitment, service development and individual casework undertaken by your teams.

Essentials:

  • Requires professional registration with Social Work England
  • Living in the UK
  • Relevant experience in the UK
  • A Safer People for Safer Services form has been completed for this post

Job Purpose:

  • To lead and Provide overall operational and strategic management of a Service Area within Children's Care and Support.
  • To ensure the effective and timely delivery of appropriate intervention and support services to children and their families.
  • To ensure that national, local and service performance targets and priorities are met.
  • To ensure that the Service delivers consistently high standards of practice, good customer focus and effective professional interface.
  • To ensure Children's Care and Support is run as an effective and efficient business
