We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Risk & Compliance Officer to join our established and high performing team.

The Risk & Compliance Officer will be responsible for supporting the Risk & Compliance Officers and Senior Risk and Compliance Manager in ensuring compliance across the Group entities with all regulatory standards and practices within the Debt Purchase, Debt Collection and Field Services sectors.

The Risk & Compliance Officer will support in managing and enhancing the Group control framework.

They will also provide this support through the various accountabilities listed below reporting the output into the Senior Risk & Compliance Manager.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate advice and guidance to the group regarding compliance with regulatory standards and practices where required.
  • Conduct routine and document regular horizon risk scanning ensuring key stakeholders are aware and are ahead of upcoming change.
  • Update and maintain a Horizon Risk Timeline.
  • Support with all necessary Due Diligence, Screening, and ongoing oversight of clients, third party servicers / suppliers.
  • Support the group AML framework by managing the receipts of reports and logging requirements.
  • Undertake adhoc projects and investigations as directed by the Senior Risk & Compliance Manager.
  • Share responsibility for the management of Risk and Compliance reporting mailbox (Risk and Compliance).
  • Attend internal Committees on behalf of Compliance as and when required.
  • Support with the logging, analysis, and resolution of issues/incidents within the business together with the wider Risk and Compliance function.
  • Identify and analyse emerging Compliance risks and trends. Provide feedback and recommendations to other Compliance and Business colleagues on how to mitigate these risks.
  • Supporting policy and process governance.
  • Updating of regulatory logs (G&H, AML etc)
  • Conduct thematic testing in line with the Compliance Monitoring Plan and support the Risk & Compliance Manger with analysing and rating the results using riskbased methodology.
  • Participate in internal business/governance meetings and represent the Group externally as required.
  • Ensure that any reports required for meetings are provided in a timely manner and are focused and relevant to the meeting topic.
  • Provide constructive challenge within meetings regarding relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Accountability for individual performance and contribution to achieve KPI's set by the business.
  • Ownership of individual performance and personal development.

Measures:

  • Producing reports of testing conducted with detailed findings identifying any areas that are not compliant with policies and framework, ensuring that results are calibrated on.
  • Producing a Horizon Risk Timeline which accurately reflects the landscape of upcoming regulatory events / developments / change applicable to our business.
  • Producing draft management information, where necessary, relating to key regulatory topics such as Horizon Risk, Due Diligence, AML, KYC, Data Protection etc.
  • Providing feedback to relevant business owners which ensures they understand where weaknesses are identified, agree appropriate corrective actions which have specified owners and timescales for delivery.
  • Working with the Senior Risk & Compliance Manager, ensuring that policies have been reviewed in line with the policy review governance log.
  • When necessary, draft and provide Management Information to the Senior Risk & Compliance Manager, to be reviewed and shared onwards through the Audit Risk and Compliance Committee.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 years' experience of working in a relevant, Risk and Compliance role (preferably at a senior level) within a regulated environment.
  • Experience in the preparation and presentation of reports / report writing is desirable.
  • Experience of the Debt Purchase and Debt Collection Sector desirable but not essential.
