This role will be an integral part of our team, ensuring quality community management of our social media feeds, and creation of amazing content about a wide variety of topics.

This is a 6 month fixed term contract/Internal Secondment.


What it's like to work here:Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust.

The role will involve travel to our head office to meet with your team at minimum once a month.


We are a supportive team, who work at pace, often juggling a broad range of conversations on our social media channels.

Alongside day to day community management, content creation and supporting our marketing campaigns, the team often need to quickly respond to external media stories about the Trust.


What you'll be doing:

As a key part of our experienced social media team, you'll be central to ensuring that we choose the right channels and messages to reflect our cause.


By running and evaluating our social media activity against agreed KPIs, including content creation, moderation, relationship building and optimisation, you'll make sure that we're developing and learning through all that we share.


Most importantly, you love our places and spaces as much as we do and want to share them with as many people as possible.

  • A sound understanding of what makes online communities tick and what content performs well in these spaces.
  • Proven experience of managing and growing social media communities in a professional capacity on behalf of a brand / organisation, including responding to customer service and difficult situations online
  • Experience of producing social media content for business
  • Experience of writing, editing and proofreading engaging and creative copy
  • Ability to work proactively and independently
  • Ability to work as part of a team, sharing ideas and learning, and to build collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders within the National Trust
  • Ability to juggle many tasks at once and to remain calm and focused under pressure
