Overview


This is an exciting new role for an analytical and proactive strategist to work with the leadership team of a unique entertainment business with global ambitions.


Working closely with and reporting to the VP of Finance, you will provide significant commercial and strategic bandwidth to the company and challenge received wisdom through data, insight and debate.

You will gain a strong understanding of all parts of the business working closely with different creative, commercial and operational teams, all of whom are incredibly supportive and excited to ensure as many people as possible get to experience the joy of the best Secret Cinema shows we can make

(We see this role maturing from strategy to also encompass delivery of business objectives).

Responsibilities

Overall strategic delivery
The Head of Strategy & Analysis will support the VP of Finance in the commercialisation of Secret Group.

The individual will have overall responsibility for:

  • Input into and challenging the strategic direction of the commercial plan
  • Input into the revenue assumptions and levers for yield management and growth
  • Strategic data driven insight in to the geographical expansion (regional and international)
  • Rigorous analysis to support recommendations on the optimal format for the experience, working closely with the Production, Creative and Marketing Teams
  • Responsibility for the production of financial modelling and show budgets, working with relevant departments to ensure robust assumptions support the financials
  • Assessment and recommendations of emerging opportunities based on brand, financial merit, capability of the organisation to execute and the potential for future value creation

Day to day

  • Assessing and supporting the expansion into new territories and formats
  • Advising and assessing any corporate development opportunities and strategies
  • Acting as a sounding board for new ideas and strategic suggestions from the heads of all departments
  • Identifying areas for improvement, including revenue generation, cost reductions, commercial and strategic partnerships (beyond sponsorship)
  • Advising the CEO on key risks and opportunities to the commercial plan
  • Supporting the CEO in delivering and presenting materials for the Parent Company and Board, including relevant analysis to make data driven and informed recommendations to the Board across all revenue streams and assessment of past and future activities
  • The CEO and VP of Corporate Development will delegate commercial representation with external stakeholders to the Head of Strategy where appropriate and relevant to overall strategic insight and delivery
Supporting the Marketing team by making recommendations to them based on analysis of trends, competition and brand positioning

Where required, support the financial performance of revenue-led aspects of productions, eg pricing; ticketing; merchandising; partnerships

Acting as an "emergency resource" to lead areas critical to achieving commercial targets until the respective team is on track and has the capability to succeed

Improve the commercial thinking within different departments of the organisation

About You

  • You will have;
  • Ideally you will have experience of working in a strategy/management consulting firm
  • A qualified accountant or an MBA Graduate / equivalent is preferred
  • Outstanding analytical skills, including skills in financial modelling and strategic evaluation
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Able to demonstrate influence; able to work with senior management and partners at all levels in the organisation
  • Critical thinking and problemsolving skills
  • Focus on details, accuracy and quality
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator
  • Flexible and able to balance multiple priorities / projects with high energy and resilience
  • A tenacious and inquiring mind with the confidence to ask questions
