Medicines Counter Assistant


The multi award winning (YPG) Priory Community Pharmacy is seeking an experienced M
edicines Counter Assistant for 34 hours per week, including 9.00am to 1.00pm on Saturday.


  • An existing MCA qualification
  • Excellent written and spoken English (other languages a bonus but not essential)
  • Evidence and examples of great customer service both by phone and in person
  • Experience of working in a fastpaced teamoriented environment

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Serving on the medicines counter.
  • Receiving incoming orders.
  • Overseeing packaging.
  • Order dispatch.
  • Checking off and putting deliveries away.
  • Serving on the till.
  • Ordering stock.
  • Answering the telephone and taking enquiries.
  • Maintaining the overall tidiness of the pharmacy.

Job Type:
Part-time

Part-time hours: 34 per week
including 9am - 1pm Saturday; Closed Sunday; Day off Monday or Tuesday.

Salary from £10.00 per hour

About the pharmacy


Whilst it dispenses medicines in the normal way, the pharmacy also operates a range of services in three consultation rooms and provides a community drop in facility.

It also delivers out-reach services to various settings in the locality.


Priory Community Pharmacy has been successful in winning several awards for innovation and patient care and works closely with the local primary care organisation and school of pharmacy supporting both undergraduate and postgraduate education.

The pharmacy is a focus for research and the development of new models of care.


Success is not dependent on prescription volume, link sales and achieving profit targets, but instead on services to the community, the creation of social capital and developing partnerships and relationships within the local health landscape.

The pharmacy operates as a not-for profit social enterprise and with an Essential Small Pharmacy LPS contract.
