Main Responsibilites (but not limited too);

  • Maintain security within the department
  • Till reconciliation and associated paperwork (as necessary)
  • Ensure the department is kept clean and tidy at all times and regularly check condition of equipment, fixtures and fittings etc. for damage/wear and tear
  • Continuously develop product knowledge and update staff as necessary
  • Seek and continuously keep updated on competitor activity, pricing and tactics, and communicate this to relevant parties
  • Manage selling and customer service activities and staff competence in these areas so as to optimisesales, profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Be available to help/assist with customer/staff queries
  • Train new staff in your department according to company policies and employment laws ensuring relevant HR procedures are followed (induction, appraisals, discipline, grievance etc.) and ensure staff are aware of their day to day duties e.g. when taking a phone call always answer in a cheerful manner and try to smile whilst doing so
  • Liaise with suppliers to build good relationships ensuring any problems can be sorted quickly and effectively
  • Maintain effective working relationships with the Partners, other managers and colleagues in order to achieve business objectives and create a positive working environment
  • Plan and implement department merchandising, layout and customer traffic flow to maximisesales
  • Manage stock levels and make key decisions about stock control including stock checks and loss of stock in your department
  • Delegate tasks where possible
  • All staff members should refer to employee handbook for matters regarding best practice
