Are you a passionate and proactive Product Designer dedicated to creating digital experiences that intelligently serve both the business and end user?
We're looking for a Junior Product Designer to join our small but fast paced design team to work with us on a range of technically complex systems and products for some of the UK's top brands. You'll work on the product end to end, so you must be comfortable conducting UX activities, and designing smart, clear interfaces.
With a mix of home working and team collaboration in our vibrant, open plan office in Bristol, on any given day you could be doing one or all of these things with guidance and support from our Head of Product Design.
- Identifying opportunities for new features.
- Improving and refining the usability of live features.
- Liaising with Product Managers and other stakeholders to understand their roadmaps and requirements.
- Researching and exploring the roadmap to validate and shape upcoming features based on your research.
- Collaborating very closely with Product Managers and Developers to ensure designs meet business, customer and technical needs.
- Understanding how users interact with the product.
- Proactively seek qualitative and quantitative customer insight and data to inform design decisions.
- Test design concepts with the relevant user group and iterate designs in response to user feedback.
- Create design specification documents, sitemaps, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, etc, that address validated customer and business problems.
- Work within and actively develop a component-based design system.
- Be a strong advocate for user-centric design practices when solving design requests and challenges.
- Encourage user-centric culture and enforce UX and brand guidelines for each digital solution.
Requirements
All our teams work to exacting standards, and so we're looking for a talented product designer who:
- Has a go-getter attitude – you won't be spoon fed work, you'll take charge of your product and own the outcome with the guidance and support of the Head of Product Design.
- Is creative with a thorough understanding of visual design principles.
- Is able to translate research and requirements into product features.
- Is able to take very complex design challenges and translate these to fresh, simple designs.
- Will design products that are easy to use and visually appealing.
- Has a great visual eye and a natural flair for design.
- Is adaptable and flex to work with product and customer needs.
- Is a strong communicator – you'll need to present your designs internally and externally.
- Has a strong portfolio of previous work.
- Can work fast so that we can rapidly iterate and test.
- Isn't afraid to try things and fail, so that we learn fast.
- Has experience using Sketch - we don't use Figma.
