Role OverviewnAs a Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our market presence and driving revenue growth.

You will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, with a strong emphasis on the rail industry. However, candidates with experience in a similar engineering environment will also be considered. This role demands a proactive, hunter-gatherer mentality and requires frequent travel to meet clients and stakeholders.

Key ResponsibilitiesnBusiness Development:
Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities to achieve an annual sales target of £6 million

nMarket Analysis:
Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients and assess competitive landscape

nClient Relationships:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within target companies

nSales Strategy:
Develop and implement effective sales strategies and action plans to achieve sales targets

nProposal Management:
Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, presentations, and negotiations to secure contracts

nCollaboration:
Work closely with internal teams, including engineering and project management, to ensure client requirements are met

nReporting:
Provide regular updates and reports on sales activities, pipeline status, and market trends to senior management

nTravel:
Spend a significant amount of time on the road meeting clients, attending industry events, and expanding your network.

RequirementsnExperience:
Proven track record in business development, preferably in the rail sector or a similar engineering environment

nSkills:
Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills

nKnowledge:
Strong understanding of the technical engineering industry and market dynamics

nProactive:
Demonstrated hunter-gatherer approach with a relentless drive to achieve and exceed targets

nMobility:
Willingness and ability to travel frequently across the Midlands and beyond as required

nEducation:
Relevant degree or equivalent experience in business, engineering, or related field.
