As a member of the Disability Charities Consortium (DCC), comprising of nine national disability charities, RNIB is looking for a Secretariat Coordinator to support the DCC's joint work.

This role will collaborate with colleagues across the DCC on policy tasks, input to the UK Covid Inquiry, organising and attending meetings, and supporting the DCC's smooth running, with a line manager within RNIB.

What you will be doing -

Supporting a powerful consortium of major UK disability charities, you'll work closely with policy leads to develop DCC letters and briefings. You'll also link in with a newly formed group of communications leads and support regular meetings of the CEO group.

You'll connect regularly with the UK Government's Disability Unit Stakeholder team, and make sure the DCC prepares effectively ahead of Ministerial meetings.

The postholder will have a particular role supporting the DCC's participation in the official UK Covid Inquiry, with the aim that the experiences of disabled people, and the lessons which need to be learned, come through strongly in the Inquiry's findings.

Here's what you will need -

With a strong attention to detail and excellent writing skills, you'll have experience of analysing policy material, and drafting briefings and letters. You'll be able to collate input from numerous colleagues to draft high quality outputs.

You'll be comfortable creating agendas, and managing practical arrangements for meetings, taking on some routine administrative tasks, such as note-taking and finding meeting times in busy diaries, coupled with the professional skills to support high level meetings with government.

You may be in a policy, public affairs or research role looking for a step up or a fresh challenge, or you may bring skills from a role in which you have coordinated written work or meetings within a high performing group or team.

You will be both comfortable working independently and being part of a collaborative group of DCC colleagues feeding into government on disability-related policy development.

This role can be worked on a flexible basis where there is the requirement to attend our London based office in Kings Cross at least once per week.

In return

RNIB prides itself on being a great place to work with a range of flexible benefits and a positive, progressive culture. We offer a competitive salary, a stimulating and supportive working environment, a flexible work life balance environment, as well as a benefits package including:
