Job Title: Part-time Cardiology Data Co-Ordinator at Sunderland Royal Hospital

An exciting opportunity is available for a role as a Part-time Cardiology Data Co-Ordinator located at the Cardiac Centre in Sunderland Royal Hospital. The position involves participating in national audits such as MINAP, CRM, and BCIS. Responsibilities include identifying, collecting, and inputting a variety of data from different sources and departments into relevant cardiology databases.

Job Description

  • Collect, prepare, validate, and submit data related to cardiology audits from Hospital Information resources
  • Perform national and local performance monitoring
  • Collaborate with external agencies for data submission
  • Perform clinical governance and appropriate administration duties within the department
  • Identify, collect, and input data from various sources into cardiology databases daily
  • Prepare reports monthly for use across the Trust, PCT, and audit network
  • Ensure data quality, update and maintain databases, and assist in external assessments
  • Record accurate data to provide management information, participate in national audits, and maintain consistent data quality for patient pathways
  • Produce and distribute audit reports, share data locally, participate in network-wide audits, and collaborate on local audits as needed
  • Collate, quality-check, and upload site-specific clinical information
  • Facilitate local audits and collate patient survey data

QualificationsEssential: Maths and English at level 2 or above (GCSE A-C or equivalent), NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent in any subjectExperienceEssential: Communication skills, information handling, clinical audit experience, database experience, prior clerical experienceDesirable: Prior NHS work experience, familiarity with NICOR database and MINAP inputSkills & KnowledgeEssential: Task prioritization, keyboard and typing skills, proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, organisational abilities, effective communication, email usage, understanding of health and safety and confidentiality requirements, willingness to undergo role-related trainingDesirable: Learning cardiology terminology and NHS codingPhysical SkillsEssential: Ability to visit other institutions and attend meetings
