Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a SACT Practice Educator to facilitate and deliver training for our SACT nurses across our SACT delivery inpatient and outpatient areas.

The SACT Practice Educator will join our team to provide direct clinical support, teaching and educational programmes for our SACT nursing workforce.

This is a part time role for hours per week.

Dependent on the experience of the candidate, a developmental role would be considered for this post.

Main duties of the job

The SACT Practice Educator will be responsible for identifying the learning needs of the clinical areas to ensure the required level of knowledge of nursing staff is achieved and maintained.

Demonstrable leadership qualities are essential for supporting staff at all levels of training, acting as a role model and expert resource for nurses and staff across the wider healthcare teams.

The SACT Practice Educator will be responsible for the development and delivery of SACT educational programmes and teaching for new and experienced staff.

The successful candidate will have highly developed clinical skills and knowledge in all aspects of haematology and oncology nursing and will possess current SACT competence.

Job responsibilities

Highly developed clinical skills and knowledge in all aspects of haematology and oncology care, acting as a role model and expert resource in evidence-based practice for nursing staff and wider healthcare teams Competent in all aspects of SACT care and administration. To assess staff competency in all aspects of SACT administration and care, following National Guidelines. To support new staff in undergoing training and education in delivering SACT. Supporting nursing undertaking an accredited SACT course and in-house training for SACT services. Work closely with staff to ensure learning is achieved and sustainable in the clinical environment.
