London, Greater London, United Kingdom LSE Students' Union Full time

Are you passionate about delivering change?

Are you interested in empowering the voice of students, particularly those from marginalised backgrounds?

Do you want to be involved in the delivery of a democratic system so innovative that it is the source of an international academic study?

If so, this might just be the role for you

Armed with a bold and exciting new strategy that is seeking to make LSESU the definitive, reliable and credible advocate for students, this role is central to the forward-thinking work that will be taking place at LSE over the coming months and years.

With highly engaged students who are passionate about making change, you could be involved in some of the most exciting work in the sector.

This role sits within the Representation Team and so you will also be heavily involved in the planning, delivery and evaluation of key work across the team, including our biannual student elections, sector-leading Student Panels, and many other cross-organisational research projects, events, and activities.

Given the breadth of work undertaken within the team, expect there to be plenty of opportunities to grow, develop and pick up new skills outside of the main responsibilities of the role.

You would be joining a fantastic and friendly team of three other Student Voice Coordinators (SVCs). All SVCs have similar Job Descriptions (JDs), but the focus of each SVC will be different i.e. our policy-focussed SVC would be most involved with the Policy subsection of the JD, whereas this democracy & governance-focused role would be most involved with the Democracy & Governance subsection of the JD. However, we expect all our SVCs to pivot between different areas as needed.

Who are we looking for?

The successful applicant will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and take a creative approach to problem solving. Above all the role is varied and dynamic, so we're looking for someone who is able to juggle multiple priorities with positivity and enthusiasm, who has strong planning and organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and who relishes the opportunity to be challenged and to find innovative ways to take on new endeavours.

You'll also be a genuine team-player, someone who looks out for their colleagues, supports them when they need help and who throws themselves into the larger cross-team and cross-organisational activities as they come up.

If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you

Why apply?

Because you're excited by the challenge The exact opposite of corporate, we're progressive, daring and creative individuals working to make a difference in unconventional workplaces. Plus...

In return for your passion and experience we offer:

● 25 days holidays per year
