What can you expect?


Working as an
Ambulance Care Assistant at our
Chelmsford base, you will play an important role in delivering non-emergency transport to medically eligible and vulnerable patients who would otherwise be unable to travel to vital appointments or return home, following admissions to hospital.


Whilst on shift, you will carry out your work as a single man or in a two-man crew and will be driving and transferring patients with varying needs and mobility requirements and therefore are required to hold a
Full UK Manual Driving Licence.

The main focus for an
ACA is to provide comfortable, timely transport whilst delivering high standards of patient care. This is a highly rewarding role, allowing you to make a real difference to the experience of our service-users.

This is a full time, permanent position, working varied shift patterns between Monday to Sunday. More information on Working Patterns / Rota's will be discussed in detail at the interview stage.

Salary per annum:

Based on 37.5 hours a week =
£21,450 (£11.00 per hour)

Based on 45 hours a week =
£25,740 (£11.00 per hour)

First and foremost, you will be caring and compassionate. You will be flexible, reliable and able to provide comfort, as well as reassurance to our patients.

A friendly smile and encouraging approach will make a real difference to the patients that you help, giving them a much-needed boost before or after an appointment.


You will be lifting and supporting patients in this role and therefore need to have a good level of physical fitness and have the willingness to undergo suitable training such as; Manual Handling, First Aid at Work, Safeguarding, Infection Control and Driver Training.
