The National Sales Manager Opportunity

The National Sales Manager position is with a top UK building and construction materials manufacturing group with a strong market presence. As the National Sales Manager, you will have control over two important Industrial product categories - Blocks and Industrial Sands. Your role will involve leading a team of three sales representatives across the UK.

In a situation where current orders are at maximum capacity and the market share is strong, the focus of the position will be on key account management, sales margin analysis, identification of opportunities to engage with high-value customers, and exploring different routes to market.

This significant role reports to the Group Managing Director. Your responsibilities will include developing strategies to expand the business through new opportunities, products, and markets. We are looking for an inspiring leader and a natural coach who can motivate and empower the sales team. Your duties will involve actively driving sales by visiting key customers, collaborating with the commercial/sales teams, implementing process enhancements, and systems to build on the existing strong foundation of the company. Furthermore, meeting sales targets and supporting the overall strategy.

With the support of an experienced team, you should have a proven track record of enhancing performance through effective management of people and processes. You should possess extensive knowledge of sales margins and budgets. Demonstrating a strong sales and commercial acumen is crucial while meeting all business KPIs. Your focus should always be on ensuring that the customer remains the central element of all your actions. You will closely work with manufacturing operations to comprehend production output and profitability, optimize available capacity, create strategic plans to boost sales capacities, and generate additional revenue through proactive business development.

Key Requirements
  • A background in selling construction products, services, or building materials to a relevant customer base, coupled with leadership experience, such as a UK Sales Manager/Key Account Manager, is vital for success in this role.

  • You should naturally excel in building relationships, exhibit strong interpersonal skills, and show interest in joining a company dedicated to its people.
