The postholder will be an individual with a proven experience in NHS admissions, and will be joining a team on a mission to develop and deliver an ambitious and exciting strategy for private patients within Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.


This is a vital role within the private patients team, helping to coordinate all the private business, including liaising directly with Consultants and with Consultant secretaries to arrange patients' private outpatient appointments, surgery dates, admission to the unit for their surgery, liaison with the insurance companies to gain authorisation and working with the Finance team in putting together quotes for self-funding patients.

Private Patients Pathways Co-ordinator

The postholder will have a proven experience in understanding NHS pathways from admission to discharge.


This is a vital role within the Private Patient team, helping to co-ordinate the Ophthalmology private business, including liaising with Consultants and Consultant secretaries, arranging patients' admission to the Trust, overseeing surgical sessions, ensuring that nursing, paraclinical and support staff are available for these sessions and liaising with the insurance companies to gain authorisation and working with the team in putting together quotes for self-funding patients.


The role will encompass working closely with Consultant Lead for Ophthalmology, the Private Patient Manager and the Head of Business Development in the development of new business and opportunities.


They will need to prioritise their own workload on a daily basis, to ensure that an efficient and effective service is provided to the Trust.
