Job Summary

The post holder will lead the delivery of a high-quality Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) nurse-run service. Working alongside other clinical colleagues to provide expert care, treatment, and support for this patient group. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of nurse-led out-patient services for patients with IBD; the provision of in-patient and day case care for patients with IBD; the provision of patients with IBD after treatment and whilst receiving complex medical therapies.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provision of nurse-led out-patient services for patients with IBD.
  • Provision of in-patient and day case care for patients with IBD.
  • Provision of patients with IBD after treatment and whilst receiving complex medical therapies.
Service Development

The post holder will contribute to the service development through education, research, and audit as well as developing practice. They will play a key role within the multidisciplinary team in order to ensure a seamless, co-ordinated, and timely approach to care. They will be expected to develop Nurse Led clinics, establish and maintain the IBD Advice Line, give advice, and implement patient care in an area which requires specific clinical knowledge, skills, and experience.

Leadership and Management

The post holder will lead and further develop the service as well as undertaking a line management role. Previous department/line management experience would be of benefit.
