Job Title: Senior Neonatal Fellow at Nottingham Neonatal Service

An amazing opportunity has opened up to work within the diverse Nottingham Neonatal Service team. We are looking for 3 enthusiastic full-time Senior Neonatal Fellows to join us initially for a 12-month period, with the potential for extension. As a successful candidate, you will gain valuable experience working as a middle-grade neonatal doctor in Nottingham Neonatal.

These positions will play a crucial role in facilitating a smooth transition to the newly expanded Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Queens Medical Centre, scheduled to open its doors in 2024.

This experience will not only prepare you for successful entry into a national Pediatric training scheme but also equip you with the necessary skills for pursuing GRID applications in Neonatology or securing a consultant post. It's a fantastic opportunity to enhance your neonatal skills post-CCT in readiness for Consultant roles.

Based within the neonatal service of Nottingham University Hospitals, this role will involve active participation at either the City campus or Queens Medical Centre campus, ensuring comprehensive coverage across both sites.

Nottingham stands out as the lead neonatal center for the north of the East Midlands Operational Delivery Network (EM-ODN), boasting two neonatal units offering tertiary neonatal care.

Requirements:

Registration

Essential:

  • Full GMC registration

Training / Experience

Essential:

  • MRCPCH or equivalent
  • Tertiary level neonatal experience at middle grade for a minimum of six months
  • NLS Provider
  • Neonatal clinical skills at middle-grade level in a tertiary neonatal unit

Desirable:

  • Advanced skills in a neonatal special interest area
  • NLS Instructor
  • Neonatal transport experience/training Advanced Resuscitation of Newborn and Infant provider

Management Skills

Essential:

  • Evidence of basic management skills

Teaching

Essential:

  • Experience in teaching undergraduates and postgraduate doctors
  • Clinical simulation experience

Desirable:

  • Completion of teaching courses/train the trainer/GIC
  • Appraisal and assessment training
  • Experience in designing and delivering teaching/simulation sessions

Personal Skills
