Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in a 1 in 7 'hot week' cover arrangement, middle tier on-call provision, and training and supervision of more junior SpRs and new junior doctors. The fellow will work at the Queen's Medical Centre Campus, Nottingham University Hospitals.

About the Department

The ENT department at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust provides a comprehensive range of ORL-HNS services, organized on a sub-specialty basis. The department is situated in a purpose-built PFI building and is shared with Ophthalmology. The team has access to state-of-the-art equipment, including new 4K Karl Storz endoscopy stacks, microscopes, navigation, and new otology drills.

Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • GMC Full registration MBBS or equivalent
    • Post-CCT ENT (or equivalent) and able to supervise/train SpRs to operate
    • Satisfactory completion of clinical training attachments both in central (Teaching) and peripheral (District General) acute hospitals
  • Desirable:
    • Project management experience
    • Enthusiastic and experienced in teaching clinical skills in the workplace or training environment to junior staff and students
    • Experience of teaching to multidisciplinary groups
