Job Summary

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Otology Fellow to join their multidisciplinary team. This 12-month fellowship provides an opportunity for senior trainees to gain further experience in otology, cochlear implantation, and skull base surgery.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will participate in a 1 in 7 'hot week' cover arrangement, contributing to the middle tier of on-call provision. They will also be responsible for helping with the training and supervision of more junior SpRs and new junior doctors. To be considered for this post, applicants must be senior trainees, ideally Post CCT or Year 6.

About the Department

The ENT department at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust provides a comprehensive range of ORL-HNS services, organized on a sub-specialty basis. The department is situated in a purpose-built PFI building and is shared with Ophthalmology. There are 3 ENT operating theatres with a wide range of equipment, including new 4K Karl Storz endoscopy stacks, microscopes, and navigation systems.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have full GMC registration, MBBS or equivalent, and experience in supervising and training junior staff. They will also have a strong track record of teaching clinical skills and research experience, including participation in audit projects and clinically-based research projects.
