Job Summary
Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Otology Fellow to join their multidisciplinary team. This 12-month fellowship provides an opportunity for senior trainees to gain further experience in all aspects of otology, cochlear implantation, and skull base surgery.
Main Responsibilities
- Participate in a 1 in 7 'hot week' cover arrangement to provide middle-tier on-call provision.
- Help with the training and supervision of more junior SpRs and new junior doctors (F2 - ST2).
About the Department
The ENT department at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust provides a comprehensive range of ORL-HNS services, organized on a sub-specialty basis. The department is situated in a purpose-built PFI building and is shared with Ophthalmology.
Job Requirements
- Full GMC registration.
- Post-CCT ENT (or equivalent) and ability to supervise/train SpRs to operate.
- Satisfactory completion of clinical training attachments in central and peripheral acute hospitals.
Person Specification
- Enthusiastic and experienced in teaching clinical skills in the workplace or training environment to junior staff and students.
- Evidence of active participation and completion of an audit project.
