Carer Involvement Lead

Cramlington, Northumberland, United Kingdom Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust Full time
This exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Carer Lead, within Northumberland's South and West Community Treatment Teams.

We believe it is crucial to involve the people accessing Cumbria, Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust services in the design, delivery and evaluation of those services, to ensure that the needs of service users and carers are represented and reflected at the heart of everything we do.

Hearing and supporting the voice of carers is a crucial part of improving person centred care across our services.

The post holder will work within the locality and designated service to support and encourage that the voice, views, needs and potential needs of carers are heard and acted upon at a local level, ensuring the best provision of high quality, safe and effective care.

The post holder will work with a dedicated caseload of carers and will provide education, support, information, and advice to carer's who have increasing needs due to the impact of mental health.

This may be via time limited 1 to 1 intervention, via group or other means.

Work closely with service areas to ensure Carers needs are identified in routine practice, with further assessment and support offered where required.

Also ensure carer awareness is supported across the respective teams and enable carer involvement to be a key and essential.

The post holder in collaboration with the locality CBU will support the facilitation, co-ordination and development of involvement and engagement of carers across the designated service area within Cumbria, Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust.

The post holder will be expected to demonstrate a high level of expertise and knowledge either at degree level or through equivalent level of experience within patient and carer involvement, engagement, and experience.

We aim to attract and retain a diverse, talented and committed workforce, who are caring and compassionate, and therefore able to meet the demands of the modern NHS now and in the future.

In return we can offer a dynamic working environment in which to build a career.
