Job Description

The Communication and Engagement Manager (CEM) is responsible for overseeing all internal communication and engagement activities within the directorate at DVLA. As a CEM, you will develop and implement communication and engagement plans in alignment with DVLA's overall strategy. You will serve as the primary point of contact for communication matters, advising senior management on effective communication strategies.

In this role, you will actively engage with stakeholders across different levels, fostering positive relationships. You will collaborate with other CEMs within the agency to share insights, challenges, and successes. Additionally, you will support the implementation of DVLA's Attraction strategy by organizing external events and internal staff activities.

As a proactive CEM, you will need to adapt to changing priorities swiftly, ensuring that deadlines are met. You will also be responsible for managing a small team, providing guidance and support as needed. This role offers a blend of challenges and learning opportunities for those who enjoy innovation and working with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Customizing internal and external messages to meet corporate standards and audience needs.
  • Participating in communication forums to keep internal communication plans up to date.
  • Leading communication campaigns and assessing their success.
  • Overseeing the delivery of clear messages and supporting staff development.
  • Supporting the Agency's Attraction strategy and organizing events.

Additional Information

This full-time position (37 hours per week) at DVLA offers flexibility for part-time and job-sharing arrangements. The role is based in Swansea and follows a hybrid working model, allowing employees to work both remotely and on-site based on business needs. This setup provides ongoing support, development, and collaboration opportunities.

As part of this role, a minimum of 60% of your working time is expected at the DVLA office. During the recruitment process, you can discuss your preferred working arrangements with the hiring team.
