About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Communications Lead to join our team at the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA). As a key member of our Operational Customer Services Directorate (OCSD), you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of our communication and engagement activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to engage with various stakeholders, including internal teams, external partners, and the public.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and subject matter experts to craft compelling messages and communication materials that align with our agency's goals and objectives.
  • Lead the development and execution of communication campaigns, ensuring they are well-planned, executed, and evaluated for impact.
  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues on communication best practices, ensuring consistency and quality across all channels.
  • Represent the OCSD at senior leadership team meetings and communication forums, ensuring our team's voice is heard and our priorities are aligned.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in strategic communications, with a strong track record of developing and implementing effective communication plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet changing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate communication effectiveness and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications, with experience in creating engaging content for various channels.
