Hours:
Monday - Thursday 08:00-17:00, Friday 08:00-13:00
To ensure on time delivery to specification and budgeted cost of all purchased components and materials.

Provide cover for the sales administrator as and when required.

Duties will include (but not be limited to):

  • Process purchase orders for components and materials as directed by Kanban, MRP and Inventory shortage reports.
  • Monitor the On-Time-Delivery status of purchase orders and report to management any deviations.
  • Expedite outstanding purchase orders to ensure On-Time-Delivery.
  • Support the SQA Engineer regarding any Non-Conforming Product (NCP) quality issues and liaise with the supplier as necessary.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels against department targets including regular reviews of safety stock levels.
  • All other tasks as reasonably requested by the Purchasing & SQA Manager or Production Manager

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree level education or Minimum of 3 years' experience in a purchasing role in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in ERP purchasing software packages i.e. AS400 / Mapics
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Tenacity
  • Good initiative
  • Good telephone manner
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office package
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Thoroughness
  • Good team working ability

Desirable Criteria

  • Ideally CIPS qualified
