An opportunity has arisen to join our developing CAMHS service for children and young people with learning disabilities.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed mental health/learning disability professional with experience of child and family work, to provide a quality service to Stockport CAMHS Learning Disability Service.
You will be based with Stockport CAMHS service which has a national profile for innovative practice.You will be expected to maintain a caseload of children and young people with learning and other disabilities working closely with the children's community learning disability team in addition to other support services already in place, supporting the children and young people, their families and carers covering a range of issues.
You will be committed to maintaining our positive partnership relationships, and as a member of Stockport CAMHS you will be supported by other CAMHS professionals who provide clinical services in a variety of settings.
You will contribute to the tiered service providing advice, consultation and training to partners who deliver learning disability services for children, young people and families aged between 4 and 18 years of age.
The post holder will be a member of the multi-disciplinary CAMH Service.The post holder is responsible for providing mental health assessments and
psychotherapeutic interventions for children, adolescents and families using
evidence based interventions.
In addition, the post holder is encouraged to develop a specific therapeutic modality as a speciality for the service.

- To provide access to a range of quality psychotherapeutic interventions in
planning implementation and evaluation of a variety of therapeutic approaches either alone or as a member of the MDT.
- To deliver therapeutic input to children and young people referred to the team.
- Work as a cotherapist where appropriate with other members of the MDT.
- To be responsible for and manage a defined caseload and undertake case
- To identify and develop strategies to manage risk to the child and others in line with Pennine care and CAMHS procedures and protocols.
- To liaise closely with a wide range of agencies regarding individual care
issues within these agencies.
- Undertake liaison and joint work with other professionals outside of the MDT
- To provide consultation and training on a wide range of children's emotional health and wellbeing issues to professionals from a range of services including GP's, Early Help and Primacy Care Services, Adult Mental Health Services, Youth Offending Services and Education Services.
