Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Practitioner to join our CAMHS Community Eating Disorder Service. As a member of our team, you will contribute to the provision of psychological assessment and interventions for young people and families.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans for children and young people with eating disorders.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including motivational interviewing and CBT.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, family-based practitioners, and dieticians.
  • Liaise with external services to ensure effective risk assessment and management.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to the development of clinical outcome measures.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A nursing or social work qualification, or equivalent.
  • Experience in child and adolescent mental health services.
  • Knowledge of mental health issues in young people and relevant legislation.
  • Ability to demonstrate evidence of up-to-date knowledge of eating disorders and their application to children and young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
