About the role:

Principal accountabilities:

General:

  • Provide central account coordination and a central reference point for apprentice activity.
  • Act as key point of contact for academic staff, apprentices, external stakeholders; employers, professional bodies and funding agencies.
  • Work with the Apprenticeships Hub and Registry staff to ensure that the University is regarded as a professional and highquality provider of apprenticeships in the region
  • Work closely with employers to develop bespoke and attractive apprenticeship services
  • Ensure compliance at all times with university policy and procedures
  • Develop a proficient understanding of apprenticeship legislation and governance
  • Generate, review, maintain and update as required apprenticeship marketing materials to ensure that they are tailored, informative and give clear, uptodate advice
  • Work alongside the Business Development functions to secure key account relationships with relevant employers and/or subcontractors

Working with Stakeholders:

  • Develop trusted and, maintain effective working relationships with a cross section of stakeholders
  • Enable academic and administrative staff at the University to understand the responsibilities of the University as an Apprenticeship Training Provider and their compliance responsibilities particularly in relation to (for example) the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), OFSTED and the Office for Students (OFS)
  • Handle and respond to questions and issues raised by stakeholders and advise relevant managers and academic teams on responses.
  • Work with employers, finance teams and management to ensure that SLAs, fees and any additional charges are taken into account during negotiations.
  • Work closely with programme teams and academic management to implement bespoke models of delivery, in line with employer requirements
  • Work with other in the Apprenticeship Hub in the preparation of development bids for apprenticeships to ensure that the deliverables for projects are on budget and on target
  • Work with the Apprenticeship Hub and internal departments on the development, implementation, and any required staff training of electronic systems
  • Working with other in the Apprenticeship Hub to design and carry out periodic employer satisfaction surveys; deliver reports and recommendations for action based on feedback

Working with Apprentices:

  • Liaise with colleagues and organise and deliver briefings to appropriate apprentice groups
  • Coordinate bespoke sign up, enrolment and induction sessions for the appropriate apprenticeship cohorts
  • Maintain close liaison with academic teams, the Apprenticeship Hub, Liaison Officers and Wellbeing on issues of apprentice welfare
  • Work with the Apprenticeships Hub and the Colleges to maintain and foster quality provision to apprentices to support KPIs
  • Work with other in the Apprenticeship Hub to design and manage communications plans for appropriate cohorts to ensure a successful apprenticeship experience
  • Organise and participate in any external events, employerled talks, presentations, and workshops
  • Work with others in the Apprenticeship Hub to design and carry out periodic learner satisfaction surveys; deliver reports and recommendations for action based on feedback

Experience:

  • Experience within an apprenticeships and skills delivery environment
  • Evidence of experience in a fast paced and complex administrative environment
  • Proven experience of working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
  • Proven experience of working with internal and external quality assurance and funding regulations

Skills, knowledge
& abilities:

  • Up to date knowledge of apprenticeships delivery and its challenges
  • Evidence of clear and concise written and spoken communication skills to a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven ability to deliver clear presentations confidently
