  • We're looking for an experienced Monitoring Officer and project administrator to provide coordination and to support the monitoring, evaluation and organisation of our Farming in Protected Landscapes programme (FiPL). The FiPL programme supports farmers and land managers to work with us to provide benefits for nature, climate, people and places around the National Park. This is done by providing expert advise and grants to make improvements on their land.
  • What's it like to work here?
  • We've moved to hybrid working combining working from home and days at our office base in Kendal. You'll be provided with a laptop to enable you to access our secure IT network when working remotely.
  • The Monitoring Officer will work closely with the FiPL Project Manager, our Farming Officers, Rangers and partners who are delivering on the ground projects around the Lake District National Park. Our main office sites are in Kendal, Haverthwaite and Thelkeld, so they'll be opportunities to travel with the park to meet with key staff working at our other depots.
  • The role
  • Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
  • providing effective day to day, responsive and comprehensive administrative services to the FiPL delivery team including arranging meetings and supporting reporting through governance processes
- acting as a central point of communication to ensure that information is disseminated promptly internally and externally
- specific administration to the FiPL Project Board and Local Assessment Panel and other related groups. This includes compilation of minutes and preparation of draft paperwork
- assist the Project Manager in the financial management of the Farming in Protected Landscape Programme in the Lake District National Park:

  • support project and programme level evaluation, including helping the Project Manager in reporting to Defra, the Authority and external programme evaluators.


This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated team who are supporting famers and land managers move through the changes and challenges that farming is experiencing.
