Health Data Epidemiologist

The Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH) contains world renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching.


We are seeking a Health Data Epidemiologist to work on the English national Hospital Episode Statistics data set, national cancer registration and other administrative health records data sets.

You will help deliver our diverse portfolio of research projects involving novel and innovative uses of administrative datasets as well as the dissemination of their results.


You will be responsible for participating in a programme of epidemiological and health services research, adapt existing and develop new methodologies, analyse a diverse range of administrative health data sets, contribute ideas for research projects, disseminate research results and responses the research group at external meetings.


To be considered, you will hold a degree in a MSc in epidemiology, health data science or related discipline, have substantial research experience in epidemiology, health data science or related discipline, previous experience in manipulating and analysing large multi-dimensional health datasets, proficiency in at least one statistical programming package such as Stata, SAS or R and have excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

This is a full time, fixed term post (part time considered) for 2 years.
