Mental Health Specialist Physician

Oxford Health NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mental Health Speciality Doctor to join our team. As a key member of our inpatient mental health service, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of patients on our wards, working closely with our dedicated inpatient consultants and community mental health teams.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to ward rounds, including typing contemporaneous clinical notes into electronic patient records, and participate in CPA review, discharge planning meetings, and Mental Health Act managers or tribunal hearings.
- Liaise with the Community Mental Health team to ensure coordinated clinical care of patients.
- Support the assessment and management of patients brought to the Health Based Place of Safety.
- Provide timely written correspondence to relevant professionals documenting assessments, ongoing management, progress, and discharge summaries using Trust IT and clinical records system training.
- Work collaboratively with other agencies, liaison with staff from other teams to manage smooth and timely transfer into and out of the unit.
- Active commitment to delivering the Trust's clinical governance agenda, including audit, quality, patient experience, learning from incidents, patient safety initiatives, and interrogation of data.
- Contribute to developing and delivering improved clinical services.
- Collect and record clinical activity data, and participate in clinical audit with administrative support.
- Cross-cover with specialty doctor and trainees for Ashurst Ward for annual leave, study leave, and brief periods of sickness absence.
- Administer ECT on a rota with other specialty doctors and trainees under exceptional circumstances, supervised by a consultant.
