About the Role:


We are currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join our team at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.

This is a temporary position at Airedale Mental Health Unit located in Steeton, Keighley, West Yorkshire.


As a Band 5 RMN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health care and support to patients in a secure and therapeutic environment.

Your main duties will include assessing and documenting patients' mental health conditions, developing and implementing care plans, administering medication, and providing emotional support.

You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the holistic well-being of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

1.

Assessment and Documentation:
Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and document patients' conditions accurately.

2.

Care Planning:
Develop individualized care plans based on patients' needs and goals, and regularly review and update them as required.

3.

Medication Administration:
Safely administer prescribed medications to patients and monitor their response and side effects.

4.

Emotional Support:
Provide empathetic and compassionate support to patients and their families, promoting a therapeutic and nurturing environment.

5.

Team Collaboration:
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers, to ensure coordinated and holistic care for patients.

6.

Risk Assessment and Management:
Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate measures to minimize potential harm to patients and staff.

7.

Crisis Intervention:
Respond to crisis situations promptly and effectively, utilizing de-escalation techniques and appropriate interventions.

8.

Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, complete incident reports, and contribute to audits and clinical governance.

9.

Professional Development:

Engage in continuous professional development and stay updated with the latest research, guidelines, and best practices in mental health nursing.


Requirements:

  • Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
  • Demonstrated experience working in a mental health setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities
  • Compassionate and nonjudgmental approach towards patients
  • Flexible availability for night shifts

Please note:
This is a temporary position from 28/02/2024 to 29/02/2024, with shift timings from 19:30:00 to 08:00:00. The Airedale Mental Health Unit is located in Steeton, Keighley, West Yorkshire.
