Spinwell is recruiting for an MDT Coordinator for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MDT COORDINATOR

  • The coordination of nominated MDT(s). This may require being available for an early start or late finish and during lunchtimes.
  • Providing administrative facilitation and support to the MDT's weekly meetings and ensure patients are tracked in a timely fashion
  • Organising venue and ensuring all technology (visual aids, laptop etc) are prepared and an attendance list is provided.
  • Creation and circulation of discussion lists, ensuring all appropriate internal and external reports and letters are included
  • To be a core member of MDT's meetings including live typing of action plans and patient outcomes
  • Attend weekly meeting with PTL Team leader and Service Manager to escalate any diagnostics tests or appointments.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and to deputise for other MDT coordinators on a regular basis to cover sick and annual leave and have a good working knowledge across all cancer sites.
  • Adhoc data requests for internal or external data/audit purposes.
    SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE MDT COORDINATOR
  • Educated to GCSE standard including English and maths / computer studies or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is a distinct advantage
  • Experience of managing a discrete body of work to ensure timescales are met.
  • Office experience giving a good grounding and background to the tasks.
  • Excellent and compassionate communication skills
  • Good keyboard skills are required to ensure provision of an efficient, confidential and accurate service to multi disciplinary staff.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication to ensure accuracy of information being required or transferred
  • Collation and provision of accurate and appropriate clinical and other information for multidisciplinary teams so that clinical decisions can be made for benefit of patients.
  • Careful attention to detail to ensure accuracy when retrieving or entering data on cancer database or Trust IT system.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Able to work on own initiative and as part of team to ensure cross cover and all aspects of work are covered.
  • Knowledge of Trust systems for the day to day administration.
  • Ability to prioritise; respond to requests from several nurse teams at any one time
