This job is ideal for an experienced Dietitian with a focus on Gastroenterology. You will play a key role in expanding the gastroenterology service at our hospital. Working closely with the Nutrition Team, gastroenterology ward, and dietetic department, you'll handle acute inpatient cases, critical care, parenteral nutrition, and more.

  • Acute inpatient Gastroenterology, Critical Care, and Parenteral Nutrition responsibilities
  • Nutrition Team liaison for decision-making in complex nutrition support
  • Gastroenterology outpatient clinic duties
  • Direct line management responsibilities
  • Service development and quality improvement projects

Main duties of the job:

  • Autonomous practitioner in gastroenterology for both inpatient and outpatient care
  • Specialized assessment and treatment for critical care patients

Qualifications and Registration:

Essential:

  • Registered with HCPC
  • Degree or post-grad equivalent in Dietetics

Desirable:

  • Member of BDA
  • Member of specialist group of the BDA
  • Postgrad qualification relevant to the role (e.g., PENG course)

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Experience in Enteral nutrition
  • Experience in complex nutritional assessment and care planning
  • Experience in EF discharge planning and coordination
  • Experience in student supervision, assessment, and feedback
  • Experience in multidisciplinary team (MDT) working

Desirable:

  • Experience in parenteral nutrition
  • Communication skills training (e.g., Sage and Thyme or advanced communication skills)
