**Job Summary**:
The role of MDT Coordinator is to provide a comprehensive, high quality and confidential administrative management for the Service to support and enable delivery of core objectives. This is a varied and demanding role that requires a 'hands on’ approachand maximum interaction with clinicians, senior nurses and administration under the knowledge of the senior management team.

**Duties**:

- Responsible for providing a high standard of professional and patient focused service to a range of Trust-wide specialities and will support MDT functions on a day-to day operational basis
- Lead on the tracking of pathways of patients’ who are suspected of having or have confirmed cancer. By working closely with the multi-disciplinary team and providing high standard of administrative support, the post holder will ensure cancer patients receivetreatment as soon as possible and ensure national and local cancer targets are met.
- Ensure that all relevant patients are discussed at MDT meetings with supporting clinical information.
- Log accurate prescriptive data collection and recording to enable effective patient tracking of all suspected and positively diagnosed cancer patients.
- Tracking relevant patients, coordinating and minute taking the MDT meetings and delivery of resultant actions.
- Co-ordinating weekly multi-disciplinary team meetings where diagnosis is discussed and treatment planning decisions are taken
- Provide a high standard of administrative report to the clinical teams
- Escalating to Services when next steps in pathways may delay diagnosis or treatment
- Providing analysis of when patients are not treated on time, to support service improvement.
- Monitoring and recording the outcomes at each stage in the patient’s journey with particular reference to pathway tracking and collection of national cancer datasets.
- Recording clinical data (e.g. staging, co-morbidities) on the Cancer Register and in tumour-site specific databases in time for upload deadlines for both Open Exeter and National Audits
- Collating and presenting patient data for all patients (including proformas, outcomes, investigation reports) and distributing this to all team members in a timely fashion to facilitate full discussion.
- Lead on administrative co-ordination of the patient pathway and tumour site MDTs at Barts Health NHS trust (including preparation, coordination, documentation, and follow-up of all administrative actions from the MDT meetings regardless of originating site).
- Work closely with the Lead Clinicians, Nurse Specialists, and other key stakeholders from the Trust to put processes in place to ensure that all patients with cancer are referred to the appropriate Specialist Centre.
- Proactively track patients on a 2wk, 31- or 62-day cancer pathway, escalating issues that may cause the patient not to be diagnosed or treated within specified timeframes
