We are seeking to recruit an Activity Co-ordinator to join one of our Mental Health Wards based at the Whiteleaf Centre.

Sapphire Ward is a 20 bedded male acute psychiatric ward, supporting patients who are in an acute crisis of their mental health diagnosis.

We are looking for a key member of staff who will work collaboratively in the planning, development and provision of a range of therapeutic, well-being and social activities for the service users on the inpatient wards. In collaboration with patients and the Occupational Therapist, you will create a 7 day therapeutic activity timetable, supporting patients to engage in meaningful activity during their inpatient stay with the aim to improve their well being and aid recovery. You will be highly supported by both the Nursing Team and Occupational Therapy Team.

The activity co-ordinator post forms part of the multi disciplinary team, including Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Health Care Assistants, Speech and Language Therapist and Health and Fitness Instructor.

Each of the 4 wards at the Whiteleaf Centre has an activity co-ordinator post, providing lots of opportunities to link up with others and receive regular peer supervision.

- To be involved in evaluating the effectiveness of activity with service users, carers and the multidisciplinary team
- To record clinical information on service user’s progress with members of the multi-disciplinary team
