Hull Youth Justice Service works to prevent youth offending and reduce reoffending behaviour in children and young people under its supervision.


A core element in the change process is restorative justice; making good the harm which has been done by an offender to a victim.


The Victim Liaison Officer is responsible for ensuring that victims of youth crime are kept informed about the progress of their case, and offered practical and emotional support.

This might involve participating in a restorative meeting with the victims of crime and young offenders.


Based in our central city office, the VLO will also work with children and young people to encourage their participation in restorative processes.

This role is suitable for a person with experience of the justice system, preferably working with victims of crime. An ability to work restoratively is essential.
