The Car Buying payments team is part of the Finance department which sits in Corporate Services providing core support to both the Car Buying business and Cox Automotive.


The Finance team has responsibility for maintaining the financial records of the business, ensuring appropriate controls and governance measures are in place to minimise risk as well as providing in depth managing reporting and analytics to drive business decisions.


Scope of Role:

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for supervising the Payments Team.

Responsible for processing payments to customers in a timely manner ensuring all due diligence around ownership and Identity.

Ensuring compliance to all policies, procedures and processes are adhered to.

Key objectives and deliverables of this role are:

  • Supporting and managing a team of
  • Responsible for ensuring the seamless processing of customer payments, for vehicles purchased.
  • Validating information provided by the customer.
  • Observing Anti-Money Laundering legislation & being proactive in preventing risk from fraudulent representation.
  • Maintaining staff rota.
  • Holding 1:1's with direct reports.
  • Attend Management meetings.
  • Processing high value payments
  • To actively support the Finance Manager, liaising with other teams to ensure any issues are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Ability to think outside the box and confidently direct the team.
  • Communicate with customers and colleagues internally and externally.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

The ability to cope well under pressure and to work effectively in a fast paced, real-time environment.

Able to use initiative and be flexible, reacting to change quickly and effectively.

Proven track record of managing a small team.

Strong organisational, communication skills and competent in Microsoft Office.

Positive and enthusiastic outlook in terms of policy, procedures, strategy, and team member behaviour.
