We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchase Ledger Supervisor to join our team at Cammell Laird. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for supervising, training, and supporting our Purchase Ledger team to drive efficiency and excellence in our financial controls.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the Purchase Ledger team to ensure accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, expenses, proformas, supplier payments, and bank reconciliations.
- Resolve complex queries and discrepancies to maintain strong supplier and internal relationships.
- Reconcile Company Credit and Pre-Paid Cards, as well as process FOREX payments, ensuring all currency variances are accounted for and cleared from the ledgers.
- Chase aged invoices to ensure timely payment to suppliers.
- Make payments for Wages/PAYE/Manual Pensions/Prepaid Cards and other payments as required.
- Oversee the reconciliation of bank statements and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Enhance efficiency and accuracy in P2P activities through process improvement activities and develop standard operating procedures.
- Prepare and present regular reports on activities and performance to the Purchase Ledger Manager.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, providing necessary documentation and analysis.
- A strong leader with experience as a Purchase Ledger/Accounts Payable specialist in a fast-paced business.
- Experience using tools like Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Drive and experience with Purchase ledger/Accounts Payable that enables you to identify, challenge, and recommend process improvements.
- Strong focus on customer success.
