Job summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated clinical leader looking for a new challenge to lead Royal London Hospital's Endoscopy Unit.

You will be a motivated and inspirational, caring and compassionate individual to lead the enthusiastic supportive team on our 5 room Royal London Endoscopy Department and 1 room St Bartholomew's Bronchoscopy Suite, being a role model to our nursing team and work collaboratively with other members of the MDT.

This is an opportunity for someone who is passionate about patient care and safety and wants to work in a supportive environment with other passionate members of the multidisciplinary team, enjoys working under their own initiative, providing excellent nursing care and getting the basics right, inspiring your team and motivating them in the development of their clinical skills and knowledge.

You must possess excellent clinical, communication and organisational skills. You will be outward facing able to constructively challenge practice and must be able to inspire and motivate all grades of staff to drive forward quality of care.

Main duties of the job

1. To be a professional role model, leading and coordinating the ward/department team. Taking continuing

responsibility and accountability for the 24-hour management and organization of the Ward/Department.

This involves managing a wide range of complex and sometimes conflicting priorities.

2. Provide specialist nursing advice Trust wide to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to

patients /clients and relatives/carers in collaboration with the multi professional team, in line with the

local and national targets.

Knowledge of current and emerging NHS strategy, policy and Endoscopy JAG standards, Infectious diseases, Respiratory Nursing Expert knowledge of endoscopic procedures including OGD, Colonoscopy and bronchoscopy, EBUS, ERCP, Oesophageal/colonic dilatation/stenting.
