Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) - Temporary Position:

Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust is currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join our dedicated team at Lynfield Mount Hospital in Bradford, West Yorkshire.

This is a temporary position, starting on 27th February 2024 and ending on the same day.


As a Band 5 RMN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals experiencing mental health difficulties.

Your primary responsibility will be to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans for patients to ensure their physical and psychological well-being.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health needs, including risk assessments and care planning.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patients' needs and treatment goals.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to medication management protocols.
  • Coordinate and deliver therapeutic interventions, group activities, and one-to-one support to promote patients' recovery and well-being.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide appropriate support and interventions, including liaising with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and occupational therapists.
  • Monitor patients' progress and document any changes in their mental health status, ensuring effective communication and reporting to the senior nursing team.
  • Provide emotional support and crisis intervention to patients and their families, promoting a safe and therapeutic environment at all times.
  • Participate in continuous professional development activities to enhance your clinical skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

To be successful in this Band 5 RMN role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Registered Nurse, with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Experience working in mental health settings, preferably within an acute care or community care environment.
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with colleagues from diverse professional backgrounds.
  • Strong understanding of mental health legislation, policies, and best practices.
  • Commitment to delivering personcentered care and promoting patients' rights and autonomy.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.

Payment and Shift Details:

  • You will be paid at a rate of £200 per shift.
  • Payments will be made through Pay As You Earn (PAYE).
  • Your shift will start at 07:30:00 and end at 20:00:00.
