Job Description

The Communication and Engagement Manager (CEM) plays a key role in delivering professional communication services. Serving as the primary contact for all internal communication and engagement activities within the directorate. The CEM is responsible for developing and implementing communication and engagement plans, in alignment with DVLA's strategy. They provide guidance and support to the director, senior managers, and teams to achieve their communication goals.

As a CEM, you will be expected to actively engage with a diverse group of stakeholders, fostering positive relationships at all levels. You will be part of a network of CEMs within the agency, where you will cultivate relationships, share achievements, face challenges, and exchange ideas. Additionally, the role involves supporting the agency's Attraction strategy, including the planning and coordination of participation in external events. You will also be involved in organizing internal staff events, collaborating with Attraction leads across the agency, and occasional travel may be required.

Being able to adapt to changing priorities and sudden requests, you will organize yourself and your team efficiently to meet deadlines. You will also have the opportunity to oversee two staff members. If you lack prior experience in line management, we will assist you in developing the necessary skills.

Responsibilities

Your role will entail, but not be limited to:

  • Editing and customizing internal and external messages to maintain corporate standards and ensure effective communication tailored to the varied audience within HRED and the Agency.
  • Participating in various communication forums to keep the HRED Communications and monthly planner up to date.
  • Creating and supporting HRED Communication campaigns, guiding SMEs in following communication processes, and evaluating campaign success.
  • Leading the HRED Communications Team to deliver high-quality messages across all HRED communications and Intranet pages.
  • Supporting the Agency's Attraction strategy, organizing event attendance and maintaining the Agency's career sites as per business requirements.

Additional Information
