As Head of Pilot Management (HoPM), you will be responsible for leading circa 1000 pilots in TUI Airways & TUIfly Nordic.

The HoPM will own the IR agenda for the pilot community and leading the union relationships with BALPA and SWEALPA.

You will be leading an experienced team of pilot managers in a dynamic environment, to manage the recruitment, on-boarding, retention, and welfare of our pilots.

You will be responsible for maximising cost efficiency through pilot supply and productivity.

You will be working closely with flight operations and training management teams, to drive best practice management in all aspects of pilot leadership.

ABOUT THE JOB

As Head of Pilot Management you will be expected to lead and develop a team of skilled and capable pilot managers; to ensure people management professionalism and expertise in the team, providing the highest quality leadership for our pilot communities.

You will monitor and manage pilot establishment numbers as required by the needs of the operation and enable maximum flexibility and efficiency in pilot recruitment and resourcing across the airlines' bases.

Whilst promoting an open, honest, one team culture to enhance employee engagement, you will motivate and drive high performing engaged pilots who deliver the highest levels of safety, efficiency and customer service.

You will deliver innovative and creative engagement solutions to create a cohesive and change ready pilot community across multiple locations.

You will be leading a frontline facing team that manages a number of benefits designed to support pilot welfare, including income protection, and loss of licence insurance.

Leading by example, you will build managerial capability within pilot management, supporting them to obtain the skills and experiences necessary to effectively performance manage and develop their teams, thereby supporting robust succession planning.

You will ensure managers are recognised as leaders in the business and are accountable and credible in their roles.

You will deliver engagement and communications strategies that are robust, effective, innovative and creative to enable a cohesive and change ready pilot community which will result in high performing pilots.
